We are extremely proud of our legacy of excellence and constantly work to fulfill our mission to "protect people, enhance lives, and preserve the planet."

Overview

The Sales Operations Manager manages the commercial execution, sales enablement, pricing governance, and operational support frameworks for assigned commercial sales teams. Reporting to Sales Leadership, this role oversees the lead-to-opportunity pipeline, commercial pricing compliance, commission administration, and sales analytics infrastructure. The position bridges commercial planning and field execution, ensuring sales teams operate with optimized sales processes, accurate pipeline tracking, disciplined pricing models, and clear performance reporting. Key stakeholders rely on this position to maintain CRM data integrity, administer monthly sales incentive plans, enforce pricing matrices, and present actionable performance analysis to commercial leaders.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor and enforce selling price guidelines based on labor and material cost inputs, target gross margin thresholds, and competitive market dynamics.

  • Govern pricing authority matrices, exception workflows, and approval routing for non-standard quotes, custom project proposals, and special contract terms.

  • Conduct margin contribution, lifetime value, and discount analyses to track deal profitability across recurring and transactional service lines.

  • Partner with marketing and commercial sales leaders to track, refine, and support lead-to-opportunity generation workflows across digital, event, and traditional channels.

  • Analyze the sales pipeline to identify conversion bottlenecks, monitor lead-nurturing workflows, and track sales velocity across operational territories.

  • Deliver sales enablement tools, process improvements, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support sales efficiency and pipeline conversion.

  • Build, maintain, and distribute weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales performance dashboards tracking conversion rates, pipeline health, and key activity metrics.

  • Coordinate ongoing sales forecasting cycles, delivering quantitative data analysis and pipeline trend summaries to sales leadership.

  • Manage CRM system adoption, user access, data integrity protocols, and regular data hygiene audits across account records and opportunity stages.

  • Calculate and administer monthly and quarterly sales commissions and incentive programs in partnership with finance and accounting teams.

  • Assist in quota allocation reviews, territory alignments, and commission plan documentation while addressing routine sales compensation inquiries.

Candidate Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or related field OR equivalent years of experience required. Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of applicable professional experience for each year of college requested.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in sales operations, commercial finance, business analytics, or sales enablement within a B2B service environment required.

  • Demonstrated experience administering sales commission structures, CRM platforms (HubSpot, Dynamics 365, or Salesforce), and pricing governance workflows required.

  • Advanced experience utilizing spreadsheet applications (Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets) for financial modeling, pivot tables, and dataset analysis required.

  • Practical experience working with business intelligence visualization software (Power BI, Tableau) and pipeline forecasting models preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong commercial acumen with a practical understanding of gross margin mechanics, pricing structures, and sales funnel dynamics.

  • Technical proficiency in CRM administration, relational database management, and business analytics visualization tools.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present performance insights clearly to commercial leadership and address compensation inquiries.

  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills to manage concurrent pricing reviews, commission schedules, and CRM data audits.

  • Strong interpersonal and consulting skills to collaborate effectively across sales, marketing, finance, and human resources teams.
