We are proud to be a member of the Rentokil family of companies, the global leader in Pest Control and other services across more than 90 countries. We pride ourselves on being a trusted partner to many of the world's leading brands and serve consumer and business customers across multiple industries. We are extremely proud of our legacy of excellence and constantly work to fulfill our mission to "protect people, enhance lives, and preserve the planet."

Overview

The Chief Data Officer , North America is responsible for establishing and implementing Rentokil’s data management strategies, policies, and standards to ensure the effective, efficient, and controlled use of corporate data assets while restoring executive trust and ELT confidence through a clear strategic vision, eliminating redundant shadow IT workarounds and establishing a clear long-term strategic end-state architecture.

Responsibilities include hands-on establishment of a new and best in class Data Management Office process/function, developing and implementing policy and controls, day-to-day and strategic management of the function, and senior management level reporting.

The Vice President of Data will be a key driver in establishing and maintaining a robust data management and governance program within Rentokil. This role requires a strategic thinker, a strong leader, and a collaborative team player who can effectively navigate and influence across the organization. This resource will have the opportunity to shape the data management and governance function and contribute to the organization's overall success in leveraging data as a strategic asset.

Enterprise Data Strategy, Governance, and Integration Leadership:

  • Define, establish, maintain, and continuously refine a robust data governance framework, including policies, standards, processes, and controls to ensure the integrity, quality, and security of corporate data assets. Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement data governance best practices while developing a road map of capabilities (technology, people, budgets and processes) to ensure data standards are effectively integrated into business execution.
  • Establish, chair, and drive the Enterprise Data Governance Council, serving as the ultimate central authority for data mastering, arbitration, active data cleansing, and standardized business definitions to aggressively dismantle data silos, restore ELT trust, and eliminate multi-version truths across operating units.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Data Management and Governance function, aligning it with the overall organizational goals and objectives. Develop and communicate the vision, mission, and goals to stakeholders.
  • Develop, modify and implement data ownership policies and processes to ensure that each dataset has a documented level of sensitivity and designated owner who is accountable for its management, quality, and integrity. Establish and implement guidelines for data ownership transfer and approval processes.
  • Institute automated, last-mile data quality assurance (QA) frameworks and proactive monitoring protocols—prioritizing absolute data accuracy and quality over release speed—to eliminate downtime and ensure predictable, reliable data product performance.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of a centralized business glossary and metadata repository. Ensure that business glossary terms are linked to relevant attributes and data assets, and that data lineage is documented and available.
  • Establish and enforce internal data sharing practices to ensure that data owners and consumers are aware of any constraints or obligations related to the use of data. Monitor compliance with data sharing practices and address/escalate any issues or concerns, as appropriate

Policy and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and internal data security policies.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Risk, and IT Security to manage data-related risk and ensure proper handling of sensitive information.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders to select, implement, and maintain data governance tools and technologies that support the data management and governance objectives of the organization. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data management and governance.
  • Engage with key stakeholders across the organization to promote data management and governance principles, gain buy-in, and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making. Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders (Legal, IT, HR, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, etc.) to identify data management needs and requirements.Lead cross-functional data governance councils and working groups.
  • Act as an authoritative strategic advisor to the ELT, defining a clear long-term strategic end-state vision, translating business strategy into an actionable data roadmap, and restoring executive confidence to eliminate fragmented, siloed workarounds.
  • Establish and standardize rigorous end-to-end processes for generating high-impact, board-ready data analysis, strategic commentary, and executive reporting packages for regular Board of Directors and ELT meetings.
  • Drive cultural change and promote data literacy and accountability throughout the organization.

Technology and Architecture Alignment:

  • Work with enterprise architecture and IT to ensure data platforms, tools, and systems align with governance standards.
  • Support the implementation and evolution of data catalogs, metadata management, MDM, and data lineage tools.
