"When I joined the military, I served in the Army to make a difference and better the world. I served on Active Duty for 7 years as an Army Intelligence Officer. After separation, I found a production manager job in the manufacturing industry. It was just that - a job. I remember thinking I’m not doing anything that’s serving anybody. That idea of serving became such an identifier for me as a vet. I found myself in front on an opportunity to be an Operations Manager for Rentokil. I’ve been with the company for 8 years now, and I remember my first interview like it was yesterday. I sat down with Ron Kamzelski and he talked about the industry, what pest control offers, and why it matters. He was talking through a situation where his father who was in the industry had to service roaches in a baby’s crib.

That story captivated me during the interview. I remember thinking this company actually serves a pretty important purpose day in and day out, and it’s helping to make the world a better place. For a guy that was longing to serve again, I thought that I could find my identity and purpose here again. I got the job as an Operations Manager, and frankly speaking, I haven’t looked back.
