Conversations with Talent Acquisition Supervisor, Will

Posting date: 09/48/25

As a Supervisor on our Talent Acquisition team, Will Rice leads a team of three recruiters that help fill our field roles like Outside Sales Professionals and Technicians across the Atlantic Market. His team understands that these roles directly connect with our customers and are vital to our company’s success, so finding the right candidate is important. We chatted with Will to learn more about his career journey and get his expert advice for those looking to join our team.

With your experience, how would you describe the company’s culture, and how does it reflect within your team?

My journey began here in November of 2021 as a contract recruiter and at the time, I was unsure about what opportunities it would lead to or even if TA was a career path that I wanted to continue pursuing. I was welcomed with open arms. My colleagues provided the necessary and thorough training, and an overall positive work environment which led to my success in my role. After the 3-month contract ended, I was offered a permanent role as a Recruiter II. I worked in this role for just over a year before earning a promotion to Supervisor in April of 2023. Since I have been here, Rentokil Terminix has frequently promoted professional development and the ability to advance your career. I have certainly seen that come to fruition in my time with the company.

How can candidates make a lasting impression when speaking with your recruiters?

Candidates can make a lasting impression when speaking with recruiters by having an up-to-date resume and clearly articulating their experience and how it can translate into the role they are applying for. Our recruiters are very thorough and take the time to really explain the role to candidates prior to asking about their experience. Another thing candidates can do to make a good impression on our hiring team is to ask thoughtful questions to display a genuine interest in our company and the role they are applying for.

Are there specific skills candidates should have when applying for your team’s open positions?

Good communication is the most important skill a candidate should have when applying for our roles in pest control. Customers often don't fully understand pest issues, so it's crucial that someone can gather detailed information about the issue, accurately diagnose the problem, and clearly explain our treatments to build trust and ease the customer's concerns. When talking with candidates, we make sure someone can explain things clearly, listen actively, and maintain professionalism because these skills can make a huge difference in our industry.
