As an Employer of Choice, we take pride in creating opportunities for those who served. Meet Patrick, a Branch Manager in Oahu, Hawaii, who still proudly serves in the United States Army Reserves. Keep reading to see what he shared!

I started with the company in 2016 as an Outside Sales Professional and sought out positions of higher responsibilities, which led to being promoted to Service Manager, Sales Manager, and now, Branch Manager. I have been extremely blessed to have mentors and colleagues within Rentokil Terminix that have pushed and developed me to take on many roles with the company.

I am proudly still serving in the United States Army Reserves. I enlisted in the Army in 2000 and served on active duty until early 2016. Through my service I have been a Behavioral Health Specialist, Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) in Charge for multiple Medical Departments, a Squad Leader for Wounded Soldiers, and currently serving as an Operations NCO. While I do take pride in the work that I have done over the years, I will be retiring from the military early next year.

Without any doubt in mind. My leadership experience within the Army taught me that our most important resource is our people and as a leader, my role is to support and work alongside our colleagues. My experiences in the military allowed me to have the grit and drive needed to give my best everyday, the ability to work effectively with talented colleagues in a fast paced environment, and the passion to achieve goals as a team. It also taught me there will always be challenges we must navigate through but if we work together, there is nothing the team can't overcome.

The biggest support they can provide is to communicate openly and seek to understand their story and experiences. By doing so, we can understand who they are and what special talents they bring to the team. Veterans share the same passion as their colleagues through excelling and winning, serving others with respect, building camaraderie with coworkers, supporting our families, and improving our community. What sets us apart is our unique experiences and perspectives on the business that allow us to collaborate on how to best serve our customers and improve the business.

Rentokil Terminix has always and continues to be supportive in allowing me to still serve my country part time as a Reservist. Serving in different roles within the company has developed me into a more effective and experienced leader for both my branch and my military unit.

In addition, Rentokil Terminix has supported me by assisting and hiring members from the National Guard and Reserve. We have a wonderful Talent Acquisition team that connects and provides information about Veteran Employment programs to our new colleagues.

Rentokil Terminix is a wonderful and rewarding place to work. Like the military, the company provides quality PPE and equipment for job performance, has a strong focus on safety, and encourages teamwork to support each other.
